In September 2026, the monthly variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 0.4%, the year-to-date variation was 4.0%, and the twelve-month variation was 4.1%.
Eight of the thirteen divisions of the CPI basket had a positive impact on the monthly variation of the index, four divisions had a negative impact, and one division had no impact.
Among the divisions with increases in prices, the most notable were food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.6%), which contributed 0.133 percentage points (pp), and transport (0.9%), which contributed 0.122 pp.
The remaining divisions with positive influence on the variation of the CPI contributed 0.219 pp.
Among the divisions with monthly decreases in prices, the most notable was insurance and financial services (-5.9%), which had an impact of -0.056 pp.
