In April 2026, the monthly variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 1.3%, the year-to-date variation was 2.7%, and the twelve-month variation was 4.0%.
Ten of the thirteen divisions of the CPI basket had positive impacts on the monthly variation of the index, two divisions had negative impacts, and one division had no impact.
Among the divisions with monthly price increases, the most notable were transport (8.0%), which had an impact of 1.011 percentage points (pp), and housing and basic services (0.8%), which had an impact of 0.142 pp.
The remaining divisions with positive influence on the variation of the CPI had a combined impact of 0.191 pp.
Among the divisions with monthly price decreases, the most notable was clothing and footwear (-1.8%), which had an impact of -0.044 pp.
