INE announces that the 2024 Census will be concluded on 31 July, which leaves only ten more days

23/07/2024
People who have not yet answered the Census can do so through the Online Census by obtaining a code at www.censo2024.cl or by calling the Fono Censo (Census Phone) at 1525.

The National Statistics Institute would like to remind the public that the 2024 Population and Housing Census will end on Wednesday, 31 July.

“We have been working intensely since March to complete the census, which is a duty of the entire country, and the census will conclude on 31 July. We are therefore announcing our last reminder to complete the census for those who have not yet responded. To fulfill this civic obligation is quite simple, and it can be done on the official web page at www.censo2024.cl by clicking on Censo en Línea”, said the national director of the National Statistics Institute, Ricardo Vicuña.

To facilitate the task of answering the census, INE has established a space on the web page www.censo2024.cl where people can request a code so that they can respond to the census online. Similarly, assistance is still available by phone at Fono Censo 1525 and in person at Puntos Censo, whose locations can be found on the same web page. To make sure that no one is left out of the census, this week some homes will be receiving letters from INE with a code so that those who have not responded to the census can complete it online.

To date, enumerator fieldwork has been concluded in 285 communes of the country, and fieldwork in the remaining communes will be completed within ten days. Therefore, you can still complete the census in person if enumerators visit or by visiting the Puntos Censo that are located throughout the national territory. Details about the communes can be found at www.censo2024.cl.

INE reminds the public that Law 17.374 establishes that all inhabitants of the country are required to provide data for the census operation. The same law establishes statistical secrecy, that is, data collected by INE is confidential and used for statistical purposes only.
